Retail Recruiter/Economic Development Coordinator
Mae Jeanne Rescineto serves as the Retail Recruiter for the Downtown Action Team, a private, non-profit organization dedicated to the revitalization of Downtown Albuquerque as the best mid-sized Downtown in the USA. Mae Jeanne joined the Downtown Action Team in May 2008.
Prior to joining the Downtown Action Team, Mae Jeanne served as the Marketing Manager for Coronado Center for 10 years. In her role as Marketing Manager, she directed the marketing, advertising, special event and media/public relations efforts for the 1.5 million square foot super-regional shopping center. Additionally, she oversaw the malls gift card and guest services program that welcomed over 12 million visitors annually and sold over $2.5 million in AMEX gift cards annually. She awarded the American Express Excellence Award for creating a superior gift card program at Coronado amongst the 210 malls owned by General Growth Properties.
Prior to serving as Marketing Manager at Coronado Center, Mae Jeanne acted as Promotions Director at Trumper Communications, which owned and operated multi radio stations, 94 Rock, The Peak, The Edge and KLSK. She oversaw and coordinated station events, concert events and radio remotes for each of the four stations of varying format as well as authorized sponsorship of many charitable organizations with in-kind radio advertising in support of special events and fundraising efforts.
Mae Jeanne has served on several boards and been an active member with Hispano Chamber of Commerce, the Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau, Join-A-School, Animal Protection of New Mexico, New Mexico Broadcasters Association, and New Mexico Advertising Federation.
As Retail Recruiter of the organization, Mae Jeanne proactively identifies and recruits retailers to Downtown Albuquerque, based on the merchandising scheme developed by DATs Merchandise & Mix Retail Strategy and coordinating economic development initiatives for the organization. She interfaces with prospective retailers and landlords or their representatives to match new retailers with appropriate spaces in Downtown Albuquerque and work with brokers and property managers on the recruitment of retail to Downtown Albuquerque. Mae Jeanne also works with current and existing retailers on retention strategies, including merchandising, window display, marketing, signage, etc.
Additionally, she interfaces with economic development agencies and officials, coordinating DATs economic development initiatives.
Mae Jeanne works closely with DAT’s Executive Director and the DAT Team, an 18-member Board of Directors, in addition to the many property and business owners that comprise DATs membership, as well as area and national retailers.
Mae Jeanne is a graduate of New Mexico State University and has CMD accreditation as a Certified Marketing Director from the International Council of Shopping Centers.
