CONVENTION CENTER STAFF NAMED “2008 UNSUNG HEROES OF TOURISM”
The Albuquerque Convention & Visitors Bureau today named the SMG-ABQ Convention Center staff the 2008 Unsung Heroes of Tourism.Ӕ
DAT congratulates Director Tom Morton and the wonderful staff for all they do! The honor is handed out in recognition of National Tourism Week. The honor is to recognize a local community group that has made significant contributions to the tourism industry. The DAT Ambassadors were honored in a previous year.
Albuquerque hosts approximately 5 million visitors each year who spend $2 billion in the local economy. Travel and tourism produces over $30.7 million in local taxes and the Albuquerque hospitality industry supports approximately 23,000 jobs!
